CATCHING UP

Hi there peeps!   Sorry I still haven’t made it back to regularly posting…this blog thing is a lot of work and cuts into my napping and pooping time.  Actually, even though we haven’t been posting, Mom and I have still been compiling many recipes.  Sorry we haven’t been diligent about getting them posted. I guess you could say we’ve fallen off the wagon.  While we try to get back on track, I’ll catch y’all up on what I’ve been up to these past months…

Of course, my most important task of the day (aside from eating and pooping), napping at the office…IMG_20140326_161004_edit

I’ve been hitting up my favorite dog friendly dining establishments like Andele’s Dog House.  Mom and Dad share the Tacos al Carbon for two…IMG_20140531_170748

While Butthead and I each get a BACON wrapped hot dog of our very own!)… IMG_20140531_170757

And to other favs like Savoy.  Where Mom and Dad share the Hatch Dream Burger… IMG_20140517_140446

While Butthead and I get a side of grilled chicken breast… IMG_20140517_141730

Enjoying Yappy Hour and even winning a few prizes… IMG_20140521_183239

Coaching Mom on her running and supervising her in her gym (You see, Butthead is in deed possessed by the devil!  This photo proves it but Mom still doesn’t believe me!)… IMG_20140524_194147

Butthead and I also got to go watch Dad and his buds play ice hockey for the last time this season (brrrr, was it cold in the ice rink!)… IMG_20140531_191629

Earlier I mentioned that Mom made treats for Cats (not treats made from Cats as I had hoped).  She also came up with this recipe that has been tested and approved by some of the most finicky of cats and in my opinion is pretty darn tasty for us pups too!  Try out this recipe that works great for baiting the neighbor cat, giving as snacks or using as training treats.

Liver and Cranberry Cat ‘Bait’IMG_20140309_205613

Ingredients:

½  C Brown Rice Flour;

1/3 C Ground Flax Seed Meal;

½ lb chicken livers (raw);

1 C fresh cranberries;

1 egg;

2 tbsp. fresh parsley (finely chopped);

How To:

Preheat oven to 375oF.    In blender or food processor mix together livers, cranberries, egg, & parsley.  Combine flour and flaxseed meal in separate mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly the wet ingredients w/ the dry.  Mixture will be slurry like.  Spoon liver mixture into jerky gun or pastry bag with a wide flat tip and extrude jerky like strips of mixture onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.  Alternatively, pour entire mixture onto a well  greased or lined cookie sheet with at least a ¼ inch lip.  Cook for approximately 10 – 12 minutes and the texture is firm yet pliable.  Turn off oven, but leave in the oven until cool to touch.

Remove treats and cut into small ¼ inch squares for cats and small training treats…IMG_20140309_205433

Or leave in jerky sized strips for larger critters…IMG_20140309_205732

Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator.

NOTE:  ALWAYS consult with your pet’s veterinarian regarding ingredients, serving sizes, & special dietary requirements prior to changing your pet’s diet.
