BANANA BERRY YOGURT PUPSICLES

September is here and the end of summer is growing near but here in the desert southwest it’s still sweltering.  Butthead and I have been enjoying these cool treats poolside all summer long, it’s not too late to whip these simple treats up for your fur kids.

INGREDIENTS:

1 ½ C berries (frozen or fresh – blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and/or strawberries);

1 over ripe banana or 1 C sweet potato puree;

1 C greek yogurt (plain or vanilla);

Water

HOW TO:

Put berries, banana (or sweet potato puree), and yogurt in the blender and whirl that sucker up.  Adding just enough water to make a smooth consistency.  Pour the mixture into small paper or plastic cups, ice cube trays, or into freezable dog bowls.  IMG_20140612_203514

Place them in the freezer overnight.  IMG_20140613_063958

Serve the PUPsicles up to your fur kids for a refreshing treat on a hot summer day!

NOTE:  ALWAYS consult with your pet’s veterinarian regarding ingredients, serving sizes, & special dietary requirements prior to changing your pet’s diet.
